Hi Everyone,

I wanted to give you all an update on how the summer is going to look for SOD.  The summer session is going to be modified from what we had planned.  We have so much going on at the church during the summer that we have decided to make the summer a summer practicum.  I am asking each student to get involved with something at the church this summer.  We will also be having two seminar days on Saturday, July 7th and Saturday, August 4th.  The seminars will be from 10 to 4 pm.  I am having surgery on my ankle on June 20th so there is a slight possibility that this will impact the seminar on the 7th but I will let you know.  I would like everyone to volunteer at least  24 hours this summer.  Here are some of the events that you can get credit for.

1.       Mexico Mission Trip – 8 hours per day

2.       VBS

3.       Jr. High Retreat

4.       High School Retreat

5.       Armor of Light Outreach’s in July 21st  and/or August 11th

6.       Jr. High or High School Beach Days

7.       Helping with the Church in the Park Day July 29th

8.       Helping with the Church in the Park Day August 26th

9.       Helping with Men’s or Women’s ministry events

10.   Helping with building maintenance

11.   Helping with Children’s ministry (more than just your normal volunteer teaching times)
